Competitors 

Meaning and Purpose : Competitors means when one or more companies try to occupied the market share and earn profit from it. Usually the competitors in the market can carry out a healthy competition which increase quality of the products. In this section, I will analysis the main competitor for both Marvel and Walt Disney.

Warner Bros and DC.  The relationship of these two companies are very similar to Marvel and Walt Disney. DC Entertainment is one of the largest competitors of Marvel Studio had to competed with is DC Entertainment. It is also a company which produced movie about superheroes and all characters are based on 1930 or 40s comics. DC Entertainment is a subsidiary company which under Warner Bros.  

Warner Bros is the current biggest media company in the world which is also the third most historic media company in the US. Warner Bros had also produce lots of great movie such as Mad Max , The Matrix , The lego Movie. Overall the best movie series that ever came out from Warner Bro is Harry Potter.  In March 2000, Warner Bros had bought the company right of the Harry Potter series which then made a movie in 2003. The movie was very success across the world wide. The whole series of Harry Potter had 8 different movies. The last movie end in 2011 and only the box office had bring Warner Bro a 2.3 billion dollar from the Movie.

However DC entertainment did not produce much movie as Warner Bro. Only a few of movies that were successful and Batman is a very great example. One of the greatest series that ever came out from DC comics.The movie was start in 2005 and end in 2012. Three movies were produced and it had a total box office of over 1.2 billion USD in the world wide. DC entertainment were so concerned the quality of this movie as it is too important for the company. They had told the Director Christopher Nolan to take the time to film all the movie, most important is to carry out the quality. 

DC Entertainment is also a cross media company which also did lots of video games as the sub product to promote their movie to video gamers.All the series of the batman video games are all stick to the story line of the movie.Unlike Marvel video games,the graphic of the games are very realistic ,therefore people who watched and played the video game will find that it is very great.

Gamers had voted for the game series of batman and it had a very positive respond of it . Most of the review on internet are all very positive and some thinks it is one of the best game that ever came out from DC entertainment and Warner Bros.

Advantage & Disadvantage 

In general, over the twenty years of time only the Batman series from DC which had a great box office result. On the other hand,  Marvel had a great result for every movie that they produced. Therefore Marvel had definitely had an advantage on its main competitor. Also compare to Marvel and DC, Marvel had a bigger back up company as Walt Disney is the current largest media company in the world. Walt Disney will be able to support large amount of cash to Marvel and produce high quality of media product to satisfy the audience.   Therefore Marvel has lots of advantage and is a head of DC due to the great support of cash currently.

Recently DC had announced that they will produce more movies with high quality standard in the next 5 - 7 years which to compete with Marvel and earn the market share which had been occupied for a very long time.
